JESUS CHRIST: MY ALL IN ALL!
By Pastor Max Solbrekken,
D.D.
Jesus Christ, our High Priest prays for us constantly as our Intercessor. (Heb.7: 25). Our Saviour entered the Holy of Holies in Heaven with His precious blood, because He is also the Sacrifice as well as the propitiation (Covering, Mercy Seat) for our sins!
The Bible says: “In this was made manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4: 9,10)
The
word propitiation conveys sin being
covered & remitted. (Vine’s
Complete Expository). It is the removal of God’s wrath because of our sins,
by the offering of a gift His own dear Son, to meet the demands of Divine
Justice. By shedding His pure, perfect
and sinless blood to atone for the sins of the world, Almighty God was
satisfied, making a way for us to be reconciled to Him.
"But into the second went the High Priest
alone once every year, not without blood, which He offered for Himself, and for
the errors of the people. For Christ is not entered into the Holy Places made
with hands, which are the figures of the True; but into Heaven itself, now to
appear in the presence of God for us." (Heb.9: 7, 24)
"Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them." (Heb.7: 25)
The Bible states: "But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but BY HIS OWN BLOOD He entered in once into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (Heb. 9: 11-12)
His death on Calvary for our sins satisfied the Father, meeting the demands of Divine Judgment on our behalf. (Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our pains (Isaiah 53: 4) and paid for our sins by shedding His perfect, sinless blood for us on the cross. (Isaiah 53: 5). Matthew 8: 16,17 and 1 Peter 2: 24 confirms this great truth!
Jesus was found guilty of Love in the First Degree!
