GOD RECONCILES US THROUGH CHRIST:
GOD'S LOVE SENT JESUS TO THE CROSS!
By Pastor Max Solbekken, D.D.
God is the Reconciler and we sinners were the hostile enemies whom He reconciled through the death of His Son Jesus Christ, when He made a SIN OFFERING for us.

In the pagan Greek religion - as in many religions today - people were always trying to please the gods. Christianity teaches the very opposite. God deligenty seeks after us to reconcile us to Him. By His Prevenient Grace, He sent His Only begotten Son to die in our place.

His precious Blood atoned for our sins, thereby satisfying the demands of divine justice, whereby we who have been reconciled by God are also able to reconcile others to God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ our Lord! We have also been called to help bring reconciliation between those who have had serious disagreements and other issues.

Many who are guilty of abusing children had themselves been abused as children. We are the exact opposite: We who are saved by God's grace and reconciled by the blood of the Lamb, become reconcilers who go out into the world to bring reconciliation others.

ST. PAUL WROTE: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a New Creature: Old things are passed away; behold all things become new. And all things are of God, Who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

"That is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

"Now then, we are AMBASSADORS for Christ, as though Christ did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Cor. 5:17-21)

Again St. Paul writes: "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. for scarcely for  a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

"Much more then, being justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." (Romans 5: 6-10)

TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR ALL HE HAS DONE AND IS STILL DOING!
