Max Solbrekken World Mission: The Second Coming of Christ: The Next Major Event? All the End-time signs Jesus spoke about and St. Paul annunciated have converged at this time. How much time we have before His return is known only by God Himself. There are two Greek words used in the New Testament for KNOW. One means to know by intuition or revelation. The other is to know by observation. According to our Saviour Himself, no-one will know by revelation the exact time of His Return but we can know by observation that it is near. That is why He gave us all the signs to watch for in Matthew 24, Luke 17 and 21 and Mark 13. St. Paul writes: "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain until the Coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
