GOD'S LIFE GIVING
PROMISES
By
Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
C.H.
IRWIN wrote: “Mighty
empires have arisen, flourished, and fallen, but God’s Word
endures. And in times of skepticism and unbelief, buried records have
been brought to light, and forgotten nations, whose very existence
was questioned, have been rediscovered. Science, anthropology,
philology, and archaeology
have all thrown light upon the historic truth of the Scriptures!”
GEORGE JACKSON
stated: “The
Bible is not at the mercy of its defenders; it shines in its own
quenchless light: what the hand of God has kindled the breath of man
can never put out. It is for us to scatter its light under the whole
heaven.”
GOD’S WORD
says: “According
as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto
life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us
to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: That by these ye might be partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through
lust.” (2 Peter 1: 3, 4)
It has been
said: “If
you have Jesus you have everything. If you have Christ you have it
all.” The
Bible says: “In Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and
knowledge.” (Col.2: 2) The amazing truth is that God has
provided all
things necessary
for our lives. Yes,
all things!
St. John stated:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God…In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
That was the TRUE LIGHT, which lighted every man that cometh into the
world.
HE GIVES
BELIEVERS POWER!
“He was in the
world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. But
as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on His name. And of His fullness have
all we received, and grace for grace.” (John 1: 1-4, 9-12, 16)
God's Divine Power
opens the door to extraordinary opportunities. All things that
pertain to life and godliness are found in our Heavenly Father
through Jesus Christ, Who has called us into a life of virtue and
holiness!
There is no
way that we
could live virtuous and holy lives in our own strength and by our own
righteousness, which is “like filthy rags” in the sight of
Almighty God! (Isaiah 64: 6; Rom.3: 10)
Receiving Jesus
Christ as personal Lord and Saviour gives us access to the most
PRECIOUS PROMISES available to mankind! St. Peter states that
believers in Christ are partakers of “the divine nature” which
frees us from the perverted lifestyle that is the natural signature
of “the world” which has been corrupted by the spirit of lust!
St. James informs
us in his brutally honest analysis of the destructive potential
inherent in the seemingly innocuous and common place titillating
thing we call lust:
“But every man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and
enticed. Then when lust hath
conceived, it bringeth forth SIN: and sin when it is finished
bringeth forth DEATH. Do not err, my beloved brethren.” (James 1:
14-16)
PARTAKERS
OF DIVINE NATURE!
MARTIN LUTHER
stated that it will take all eternity for us to understand such
things as grace and gospel.
It is not humanly possible for us to understand the workings of the
God of the universe. JOHN WESLEY wisely
asked: “Can
a worm understand a man?”
ST. PAUL cried out:
“That I may KNOW Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the
fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death.”
(Phil.3:10) He states emphatically that he had given up everything to
follow Jesus that he might “be
found in Him.”
“But what things
were gain to me, those I counted as loss for Christ. Yea, doubtless,
and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge
of Christ Jesus my Lord: for Whom I have suffered the loss of all
things, and do count them but dung (garbage) that
I may win Christ.” (Phil.3:7, 8)
The Holy Bible is
inspired of God and the natural
man is at a
loss to even comprehend the most basic truths found in its sacred
pages. Only the Holy Spirit can quicken those holy things to our
hearts.
The Word of God
declares: “But we speak the wisdom
of God in a mystery,
even the
hidden wisdom,
which God ordained before the world unto our glory: which none of the
princes knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified
the Lord of Glory.” (1 Cor.2: 7,8)
YOU
MAY ASK: "WHY IS THIS?"
“But the
natural man receiveth
not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto
him: neither
can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Cor.1: 14)
St. Paul elaborated:
“But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb,
and called me by His grace; To reveal
His son IN me,
that I might preach Him among the heathen; immediately I conferred
not with flesh and blood.” (Gal.1: 15,16)
There is herein a
great truth which not many theologians have understood. For many
years I did not grasp it either, because some Bible translations
read, “to
reveal His Son to me”. The
NET Bible notes say:
“The Greek preposition en can mean either, depending on the
context.”
The Word of God is
alive (quick) and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the
joints and the marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents
of the heart.” (Heb.4: 12)
As the Holy Spirit
reveals the Word of God to us, great hidden truths come alive in our
spirit. There is a deeper truth here than meets the eye! To reveal
Christ TO me
is quite different than to reveal Christ IN me!
Jesus said: “I
will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. At that day ye
shall know that I am
in my Father, and ye in Me, and I in you…And
My Father will love him, and We
will come unto him and make our abode with him.”
(John 14: 23)
“And he that
keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him,
and He in him.
And hereby we know that He abideth
in us, by the
Spirit which He hath given to us.”
THE
MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL!
The Old Testament
prophet stated: “A new heart will I give you, and a new spirit will
I put within you and I will take away the stony heart out of your
flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in
My statutes. And ye shall keep My judgements and do them.” (Ezek.
36: 26, 27)
St. Paul revealed
a monumental truth that had never before been known, that God through
Jesus Christ would take up residency in
mankind. He would change us by giving us His nature and putting His
Spirit within us.
He wrote: “Whereof
I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is
given to me for you, to fulfill the Word of God; even
the Mystery which
hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made
manifest to His saints:
“To whom God would
make known what is the riches of the glory of this MYSTERY among
the Gentiles; which is CHRIST
IN YOU the hope
of glory.” (Col.1: 26, 27)
“Now to Him that
is of power to stablish you according to my Gospel and the preaching
of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the Mystery,
which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made
manifest…” (Rom.16: 25)
When Christ
is revealed
to you, you learn
about Him, however, when He is revealed
in you, He
becomes a part of you! Therein lies the difference between preaching
from the intellect and preaching from the heart!
The Bible says: “He
makes His…ministers a flame of fire.” (Heb.1: 7) Jeremiah
confessed he planned to stop preaching, “but His Word was in mine
heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones….” (Jer.20: 9);
Jesus said: “If
ye abide in
Me and My
words abide
in you, ye shall
ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15: 7) After
meeting Jesus on the Damascus Road, St. Paul was consumed with the
Gospel and became a preaching machine and a living epistle “seen
and read all men”. (2 Cor.3: 2)
God revealed
Himself in ST.
PAUL, so that he could say: “Follow me as I follow Christ.” (1
Cor.1: 11); “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet
not I, but Christ
liveth in me; and
the life which I now live in the flesh I
live by the faith of the Son of God,
who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Gal.2: 20)
ST. JOHN stated
that Jesus Christ is our Advocate with the Father and that “He is
the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for
the sins of the whole world.” (1 Jn.1: 1, 2)
His vicarious death
on the CROSS met the demands of divine justice! The word propitiation
means that God was satisfied with the sacrificial death of Jesus
Christ for our sins!
THE BIBLE says: “But
whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected:
hereby know we that we are IN
HIM. He that
saith he abideth IN
HIM ought
himself also so to walk, even as He walked.” (1 John 1:5, 6)
“Let that
therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If
that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye
also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And this is
the PROMISE that
he hath promised us, even
eternal life.”
(1 John 2: 24, 25)
St. Paul stated:
“For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Who was preached among you…was
not yes and no, but
in Him was YES.
For all the PROMISES of
God in Him are YES, and
in Him (the) Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2 Cor.1: 19, 20)
It doesn’t
matter how many promises God has made, He will keep them all. His
Word is immutable and cannot be changed! Everet
E. Storm states
that God has made 7,959 promises in the Holy Bible!
ARMIN
GESSWEIN, who lived to be 93, stated that as a young Lutheran pastor,
he learned about prayer from Ambrose
Whaley, a 92 year
old Methodist blacksmith who told him: “Learn
to plead the promises of God.”
His prayer chamber
was a hayloft where he knelt with his hands placed on two Bibles
lying on hay piles, pleading the promises of God in his prayer!
Gesswein stated: “Revival
is Christians returning to normal. When God is about to do something
great, He starts with a difficulty. When He is about to do something
truly magnificent, He starts with an impossibility.”
LUTHER LOCKED
THE DOOR!
When MARTIN LUTHER
found Philip Melancthon in the last stages of death, he turned his
face to the wall and prayed for about an hour for God’s
intervention.
He writes: “I
threw my satchel against the door and said: ‘Now
Lord it’s between You and me. If You don’t heal Melanchthon I do
not know if I’ll have faith to ask You for anything again’. Then
I shouted in God’s ears all the promises He had given us for faith
and healing.”
After
calling upon the Lord for about an hour, he heard Melanchton
whisper: “Luther,
stop praying. Let me die.” Luther
replied: “You
shall live. If you die, I will excommunicate you.
”Then
he called the nurse to bring some broth. Melanchton said:“Let
me die, Luther. I don’t want any broth,” to
which Luther replied, “If
you die before me, I will excommunicate you.” Those words
were prophetic because Philip Melanchton did outlive Martin Luther!
He
then took Melanchthon by the hand and said, "Be
of good courage Philip, you shall not die." Melanchthon
immediately revived and soon regained his health. He later said, "I
should have been a dead man had I not been recalled from death itself
by the coming of Luther.”
By
locking the door, Martin Luther was saying two things: “God, You
are not leaving here until we straighten out this problem, and I
don’t want any disruptions while You and I talk.” Luther wrote:“I
found Melenchton near death but by an evident miracle of God he
lives.”
WHAT
GREATER WICKEDNESS!
MARTIN
LUTHER stated: "What
greater wickedness, what greater contempt of God is there than not
believing His promise? For what is this but to make God a liar or to
doubt that He is truthful? - that is, to ascribe truthfulness to
one’s self but lying and vanity to God."
ST. PAUL wrote:
“…For I KNOW Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is
able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.”
(1 Tim.1: 12)
How then, can we
mere mortals understand the mind of the Eternal? It is almost
laughable when you hear the wisest
pundits and scientific
minds in the
world today pontificate about God’s creation and Person!
What does STEPHEN
HAWKING know about God? Answer: If he does not have a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ, the answer is “NOTHING.”
Reality check: CARL
SAGAN warned against the astronauts landing on the moon. Due
to its great age there would be at least a half a mile of moon dust
into which the landing craft could sink and the astronauts drown!
The TRUTH is that
there was only one-half inch of dust on the moon, proving that the
evolutionists were “out
to lunch” on
the age of the moon and are also totally wrong on the age of the
Earth!
What about the most
brilliant scientist of all time, ISAAC NEWTON, or BLAISE PASCAL or
WERNER VON BRAUN? Did they know God? Yes! They knew God because they
believed the Holy Scriptures, but they would be the first to confess
that they could not understand Him!
Thankfully, we are
not asked to understand God in order to have communion with Him. We
are admonished to love the Lord our God, worship and trust Him in
obedience and faith!
Jesus said: “Thou
shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul
and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.”
(Matt.22: 37,38)
Archaeologist HENRY
ALBRIGHT attests: “There
can be no doubt that archaeology has confirmed the substantial
historicity of Old Testament tradition.”
Archaeologist NELSON
GLUECK says: “It may be stated categorically that no archaeological
discovery has ever controverted a biblical reference. Scores of
archaeological findings have been made which confirm in clear outline
or exact detail historical statement in the Bible.”
TRUSTWORTHINESS OF THE BIBLE!
SIR FREDRICK KENYON
who was the Director and Principle Librarian to the British Museum
stated: “Beside number, the manuscript of the New Testament differ
from those of the classical authors… In no other case is the
interval of time between the composition of the book and the date of
the earliest existent manuscripts so short as that in the New
Testament.
“The books of
the New Testament were written in the latter part of the First
Century; the earliest extant manuscripts (trifling scraps excepted)
are in the Fourth Century – say from 250 -300 years later. This may
sound a considerable interval, but it is nothing to that which parts
most of the Classical authors from their earliest manuscripts.
“We believe that
we have, in all essentials, an accurate text of seven extant plays of
SOPHOCLES; yet the earliest substantial manuscript upon which it is
based was written more than 1400 years after the poet’s death.
“The interval
between the dates of original composition and the earliest existent
evidence becomes so small as to be in fact negligible, and the last
foundation for any doubt that the Scriptures have come down to us
substantially as they were written has now been removed. Both the
authenticity and the general integrity of the books of the New
Testament may be regarded as finally established.
“It
is therefore legitimate to say that, in respect of that part of the
Old Testament against which the disintegrating criticism of the last
half of the 19th Century
was chiefly directed, the evidence of archaeology has been able to
re-establish its authority.
“SIR FREDRICK
KENYON declared: “The Christian can take the whole Bible in his
hands and say without fear or hesitation that he holds in his hands
the true Word of God handed down without essential loss from
generation to generation throughout the centuries.”
Creation Scientist
HENRY MORRIS declares: “While
many have doubted the accuracy of the Bible, time and continued
research have consistently demonstrated that the Word of God is
better informed than its critics.”
A MATTER OF ACCOUNTABILITY!
ROBERT A. ZADLAW wrote: “God exists whether or not people may choose to believe in Him. The reason why many people do not believe in God is not so much because it is intellectually impossible to believe in God, but because belief in God forces the thoughtful person to face the fact that he is accountable to such a God.
“The president of
the New York Scientific Society once gave eight reasons why he
believed there was a God. The first was this: Take ten identical
coins and mark them one to ten. Place them in your pocket. Now take
one out. There is one chance in ten that you will get No.1. Now
replace it, and the chances that No. l follows No. 2 are not one in
ten but one in one hundred. With each new coin taken out, the risk
will be multiplied by 10, so that the chance of all ten following in
sequence is one in 10,000,000,000 (ten billion). - The
Reason to Believe
– Moody
Press
USA Statistician
GEORGE GALLOP stated:“I
could prove God statistically. Take the human body – the chance
that all the functions of the individual would just happen is a
statistical monstrosity.”
Nobel Prize winner
in Physics, DR.
ARTHUR COMPTON, states: “For myself, faith begins with a
realization that a supreme intelligence brought the universe into
being and created man. It is not difficult for me to have this faith,
for it is incontrovertible, that where there is a plan there is
intelligence – an orderly, unfolding universe testifies to the
truth of the most majestic statement ever uttered – In the
beginning God.”
EDWIN CONKLIN,
noted US Biologist stated: “The
probability of life originating from accident is comparable to the
probability of the Unabridged Dictionary resulting from an explosion
in the printing shop.”
French Philosopher
ROUSSEAU stated: “Behold
the works of our philosophers, with all their pompous diction, how
mean and contemptible they are in comparison with the Scriptures! Is
it possible that a book at once so simple and sublime be the work of
man?”
SIR WALTER SCOTT
said: “THE
BIBLE: In the whole world it is the BOOK. All other books are mere
leaves.”
Professor DYSEN
HAGUE, M.A. declared: “YES,
it alone is the universal Book – the Eternal Book. It is the VOICE.
All others are merely books for the hour. The Bible is the book of
all time. It stands alone; unapproachable in grandeur, as high above
every other book as Heaven is above the earth, as the Son of God
above the sons of men.” (1961).
MOSES wrote: “For
ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee since the
day God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of
heaven unto the other, whether there hath any such thing as this, or
hath been heard like it.” (Deut.4 : 32)
HEALING FOR SPIRIT, SOUL & BODY!
The Greek word SOZO
means to
protect, deliver, heal, preserve, save and make well. In
reality it means the ‘Salvation
of God’. Seven
hundred years before Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem, the Prophet Isaiah
declared: “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold
a VIRGIN shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name
Emmanuel.” (Is.7: 14)
The Angel Gabriel
appeared to Joseph saying: “…Fear not to take unto thee Mary thy
wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And
she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS for
He shall save His people from their sins.
“Now all this was
done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the
prophet saying, Behold a virgin shall
be with child, and shalt bring forth a Son, and they shall call His
name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, GOD WITH US.” (Matt.1:
20-23)
The name of Jesus in
Hebrew is Yeshua which mean ‘the
Salvation of God’. God’s
salvation for mankind is forgiveness,
healing, protection, wellness and deliverance from
the power of the Devil and His evil work! Jesus came to this earth
“to seek and save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10)
The name of JESUS
means: Saviour,
the salvation of God; the God who saves, heals, protects, delivers
and makes well.
Everywhere our Lord
went, he preached the Gospel and confirmed His message by healing the
sick and casting out evil spirits from those who were bound: “For
this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the
works of the devil.” (1 John 3: 8)
The Bible states:
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power
who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the
devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10: 38)
“…Jesus of
Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and
signs, which God did by Him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves
also know.” (Acts 2: 22)
“How shall we
escape if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to
be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard
Him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and
with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to His
own will.” (Heb.2: 3, 4)
GOD’S WORD says:
“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church;
and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the
Lord: And the prayer of faith shall SAVE the
sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins,
they shall be forgiven him.” (James 5: 14, 15)
The
word SOZO used
here means to heal the sick and make them well, is used
interchangeably for forgiveness and healing for body or soul in the
following Scriptures: Mark 5:23, Mark 5:34, Mark 6:56, Mark 16:16,
Luke 8:36, Luke 17:19, Luke 18:42, Acts 2:21, Acts 14:9, Acts 4:12
and Eph.2:8.
The HOLY RECORD
states: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His
benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy
diseases.” (Psalms 103: 2,3); “He was wounded for our
transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement
of our peace was upon Him and with his stripes we are healed.” (Is.
53: 4,5)
“And when the even
was come, they brought unto Him (JESUS) many that were possessed with
devils; and He cast out the spirits with His Word, and healed all
that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by
Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities and bare our
sicknesses.” (Matt.8: 16, 17)
“Who His own
self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead
to sins, should live unto righteousness; by Whose stripes ye were
healed. (1 Peter 2: 24);
The BIBLE says: “He
hath sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their
destructions.” (Ps.107: 20): “He brought them forth with silver
and with gold; and there was not one feeble person among their
tribes.” (Ps.105: 37)
“I am the Lord,
the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” (Jer. 32:
27); “And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and He shall bless thy
bread and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of
thee.” (Ex.23: 24, 25)
GOD’S
HEALING COVENANT!
In
His great love and concern for His people, Israel, Almighty God made
a ‘Healing covenant with Moses’ on their behalf. Here it is:
“If thou wilt
diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God and wilt do that
which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments,
and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon
thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians, for I am the Lord that
healeth thee.” (Ex.15: 26)
The ten plagues
which God released upon the Egyptians that finally forced Pharaoh to
allow the Hebrew slaves leave their bondage was reserved only for the
enemies of Israel and by extension to Jehovah their Covenant God!
“He brought them
forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person
among their tribes.” (Ps.105: 37);
“Then they cried
unto the Lord God in their trouble, and He saveth them out of their
distresses. He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from
their destructions.” (Ps.107: 20)
“God is a very
present help in time of trouble.” (Ps.46:1); “The Lord is my
light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength
of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Ps.27:1)
“No good thing
will God withhold from them who walk uprightly.” (Ps.84: 11);
“There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come
nigh unto thy dwelling.” (Ps. 91: 10);
“Delight thyself
in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
(Ps.37: 4); “Unto you that fear My name shall the Son of
righteousness arise with healing in His wings.” (Mal.4: 2)
“No weapon that
is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall
rise against thee shalt thou condemn. This is the heritage of the
servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me sayeth the
Lord.” (Is.54:17)
Divine Healing is
promised for those who fast and pray and seek the Lord: “Is not the
fast that I have chosen? To lose the bands of wickedness, to undo the
heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break
every yoke?
“Is it not to
deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are
cast out to thy house? When thou seest the naked, that thou cover
him, and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
“Then shall thy
light break forth as the morning, and thy health shall spring forth
speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee, the glory of
the Lord shall be thy rear guard. Then shalt thou call and the Lord
shall answer: thou shall cry, and He shall say, Here am I...”
(Is.58: 6-8)
“For this purpose
the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the
enemy.” (1 John 3: 8); “The thief (Satan) cometh not but for to
steal, kill and destroy. I am come that you might have life and more
abundantly.” (John 10: 10);
“Now unto Him that
is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us.” (Eph.3: 20)
“And He said
unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel unto every
creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he
that believeth not shall be damned.
“And these
signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out
devils…they shall lay their hands on the on the sick, and they
shall recover.” (Mark 16: 15-20)
Jesus
said: “Come unto Me all ye who labour and are heavy laden and I
will give you rest.” (Matt.11: 28); “All that the Father giveth
Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast
out.”(John 6: 37)
He invites us to
fellowship with Him though prayer, praise and meditation. He said:
“Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and
it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth; he
that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
(Matt.7: 7,8)
Then He shared
this great analogy: “And what man is there of you, whom if his son
asks bread, will he give him a stone?”Something
useless! “Or
if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?” Something
dangerous!
“If ye then,
being evil, know to give good gifts unto your children, HOW MUCH MORE
shall your Father in Heaven give good things to them that ask Him? “
(Matt.7: 9-11). He stated: “I will never leave thee nor forsake
thee. I will be with thee unto the end of the world.” (Matt.28:20;
Heb.13:5)
In this PROMISE our
precious Lord Jesus used a double imperative to drive home a very
important truth. He actually said: I will never, NO NEVER leave thee.
I will never NO NEVER forsake thee, I will be with thee until the end
of the world.
Of
all the promises our Lord gave us, I think this is the most touching.
Jesus was so concerned that we know the truth of His presence and
nearness to us at all times!
“The
promise of God in Christ Jesus is Yea and Amen. The
Bible states: "If God be FOR US, who then can be against
us? (Romans 8:31); Greater is He that is IN US that he that is
in the world." (1 John 4: 4);
"God hath
delivered us from the power of DARKNESS, and hath translated us into
the Kingdom of His dear Son, in Whom we have REDEMPTION through His
BLOOD." (Col. 1: 13,14) When Satan's power was defeated in our
lives and we were translated into Christ's KINGDOM, Satan's power to
harass us was finished. WE can tell him to remove his sickness
and disease from us for we are God's PROPERTY.
We have been
purchased by His blood: "Ye are BOUGHT WITH A PRICE:
therefore glorify God in your BODY, and in your SPIRIT, which
are GOD'S." (2 Cor. 6: 20)
In the NAME of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and upon the authority of God's Word and by
the BLOOD of the everlasting covenant, I command the pain to
LEAVE YOUR BODY from the crown of your head to the soles of your
feet, and the power of Satan to be broken off your body!
Amen.
We
can legally say: 'Satan, It's Over! You have Lost and we have Won
through the precious blood of Christ Jesus our Lord!'
