IT IS IMPOSSIBLE
FOR GOD TO CHANGE, LIE OR FAIL!
By
Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
Thomas
Ball,
founder of the Pentecostal Movement in Norway wrote a little song
that says: 'Himmel
og jord skal brenne, men den som tror skal finne, Guds Lofter svikter
ikke'. In
English it says:
'Heaven
and Earth shall burn, but he that believes will find that God's
promises will never fail'.
Hundreds
of times in our world-wide Crusades I have preached a message which
states that God has not changed, cannot change and will not change.
It is impossible for
God to change! He
has not lied, cannot lie and will not lie. It
is impossible for God to lie!
He has not failed, cannot fail and will not fail. It
is impossible for God to fail. He
is on call 24/7, does not get weary, old or out of touch with
mankind. And He
never goes on vacation, retires or dies!
I have many fond memories of my
childhood and the kindness of my mother and father. We were a close
knit family and were raised with good morals and a strict Christian
work ethic in the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Our Norwegian heritage taught us to respect our parents and Mama was always special. The time
came, however, when Mom and Dad got old, sick and died! God, however,
does not get sick or die. He is alive for evermore!
God loves us, knows about us
and most of all, He cares for us and has provided for our welfare for
time and eternity. He sent His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh so
that He could conquor sin, death, Hades and Satan himself, to free us
from the Evil One and the powers of Darkness.
When Jesus Christ arose
from the dead He had abolished death and swallowed up death for every
one who would believe. His resurrection from the dead abolished
eternal death for us all!
God's Word cannot return unto Him void.
It must accomplish that for which He hath sent it. It is impossible
for God to fail and since He has placed His Word above His name it is
therefore impossible for God's Word to fail!
The Holy Scripture
says: “He
hath sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from all their
destructions.”
(Psalms 107: 20). Again the Bible states: “God is not a man
that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent
(change).
Has He said and shall He not do it, or hath He spoken and shall He
not make it good?”
(Numbers 23: 19)
Our Heavenly Father's
great heart of mercy and compassion desires to bless and heal all who
are suffering and hurting today. I do not believe it is God's will
for any of His children to suffer the pain, agony and torment which
Jesus suffered on behalf of us on the whipping pole and on the cross!
All sickness, disease
and pain was conquored by our Saviour Who took upon Himself all
sicknesses and pains. Seven hundred years before Jesus Christ's
sacrificial scourging, crucifixion and death for us all, Isaiah the
prophet saw it all as he prophesied:
"Surely He hath
borne our sicknesses (makob),
and carried our pains (nasa)
: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our
iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him and by His
Stripes we are healed.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have
turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord hath laid on Him the
iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He
opened not His mouth; He is brought as a Lamb to the slaughter, and
as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.”
(Isaiah 53: 4,5)
JESUS WAS MOVED WITH
COMPASSION!
St. Matthew recorded
the miracles that Jesus performed linking them to His work of
Atonement for us all on Golgotha:
“When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that were
possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirits with His Word, and
HEALED all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was
spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities,
and bare our sicknesses.”
(Matt. 8: 16,17).
St. Peter declared:
“Who
His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we,
being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by Whose stripes
ye were HEALED.”
(
Peter 2: 24
St. James stated: “Is
any sick among you?
Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over
him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And
the prayer of faith shall SAVE
the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;
and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
(James 5: 14, 15)
The word save
is the Greek word sozo,
which
means:
“to
protect, deliver, heal, preserve, save and
make well.”
King David was an
anointed prophet of God. Almighty God spoke through him in a
powerful way. By the Holy Spirit he stated: “Bless
the Lord O, my soul: and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name.
Bless the Lord , O my soul, and forget not all His Benefits: Who
forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who Healeth all thy Diseases: Who
redeemeth thy soul from destruction...”
(Psalms 103: 1-4)
Jesus Christ said: “If
thou canst believe all things are possible to him that believeth.”
(Mark 9: 23): “...With
men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are
possible.”
(Mark 10: 27)
“And whatsoever ye
shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be
glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in My name, I will do
it.”
(John 14: 13, 14); “If
ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will
and it shall be done unto you.”
(John 15:7)
GOD
WANTS TO SAVE & HEAL US ALL!
St. John wrote: “And
this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing
according to His will, He heareth us. And if we KNOW that He hear us,
whatsoever we ask, we know we have the petitions that we desired of
him.” (1 John 5: 14, 15)
One of the greatest Scripture
we have is this:“We Know that whosoever
is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth
himself, and that Wicked One toucheth us NOT. And we Know that we are
of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
“And we Know that the
Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that may Know
Him that is TRUE, and we are in Him Who is TRUE, even in His Son
Jesus Christ. This is TRUE God and Jesus Christ.”
(1 John 5: 18-20). Amen.
Thank You Jesus for
granting me the Gift of Faith, the same faith that Jesus had when He
healed the sick, cast our demons and raised the dead! My deep held
convictions and my personal belief about Jesus Christ is identical to
the holy Scriptures. I concur wholly with the Word of God! He is good
and His mercy endureth forever! Amen.
