PERSONAL!
Dear
Friends of the Gospel, October, 2016
Greetings in the all powerful Name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, the Son of the Living God! It is with anticipation that I
eagerly await results of our prayers to God for those who suffer from
the onslaughts of the enemy!
Knowing that He knows all about us, I sincerely
anticipate more and more answers to our prayers! Our Lord promised:
“Again I say
unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching
anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father
which is in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name
there am I in the midst of them.”
(Matt. 18:19, 20)
The Scriptures are clear, that Jesus invited us
repeatedly to come to Him in prayer and in so doing was letting us
know that He does answer prayer! It would not be proper to invite
someone to pray and then ignore that prayer. That is not the kind of
God we serve. He does hear and He does answer!
PRAYERS ARE TO
BE ANSWERED!
St. John states: “And
this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything
according to His will, He heareth us. And if we know that He hear us,
whatsoever we ask, we KNOW that we have the petitions that we desired
of Him.” (1
John 5: 13, 14)
Here the great
Apostle qualifies his statement by bringing in the fact that we MUST
KNOW that He hears us. And we can be certain about that because He is
waiting for our call to Him, desirous to help in whatever situation
we are in!
Here are the
SEVEN INVITATIONS Jesus gave us in St. John's Gospel:
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the
Father may be glorified in the Son.”
(14: 13); “If
ye shall ask anything in my Name, I will do it.”
(14: 14); “If
ye abide in me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will,
and it shall be done unto you.”
(15: 7)
“Ye have not
chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go
and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that
whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it
you.”
(15: 16);
“And
in that day ye shall ask Me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you.
Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it you.”
(16:
23); “Hitherto have
ye asked nothing in My name: ask and ye shall RECEIVE, that your joy
may be full.” (16:
24);
“At
that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will
pray the Father for you: For the Father Himself loveth you, because
ye have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from God.” (16:
26, 27)
