ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE - PART 3
By Pastor Max Solbrekkken, D.D.
“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” (Mark 9:23); “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God, for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10: 27)
The Anointing of the Holy Spirit breaks the yoke! “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” (Is. 10: 27)
In this Scripture Isaiah conveys a prophetic truth concerning the coming of the Messiah and the liberation of His people from the powers of darkness, by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible states: “But unto the Son He saith...Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy fellows.” ( Heb.1: 8.9). The prophet Zechariah delivers the same message of the working of the Holy Spirit of God: “...Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts.” (Zech. 4; 6)
The YOKE of Satanic Bondage is removed from our neck and the burden off our shoulder by the BLOOD of JESUS and the power of the Holy Spirit. The YOKE of fear, torment, guilt, condemnation, pain, disease and unrest is broken by the anointing of God the Holy Spirit!
The Bible says: “Ye shall know the truth and the Truth shall make you Free.” (John 8:32). Jesus Christ Himself is the TRUTH and being within us, frees us from the power of sin, fear, torment, sickness and evil: “If the SON therefore shall make you Free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8: 36)
PROMISES OF GOD NEVER CHANGE!
God states: “And I will come near to you to judgment... For I am the Lord, I Change Not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed... Return unto Me and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of Hosts.” (Malachi 3:6)
“Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever.” (1 Cor. 13:8); “Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of Heaven, but My Father only.” (Matt. 24: 34-37)
JESUS stated: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” (John 14: 6); Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” (Matt. 7:7,8)
“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven: in Heaven and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt. 18: 18-20)
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!
“Jesus said unto him. If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. (Mat. 9: 23). And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27);
“And Jesus answered saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you; That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt his heart, but shall believe that those things that those which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have them.” (Mark 11:22-24)
Dr. Ole Hallesby, Evangelical Lutheran Church, Norway (Devotional Jan. 28): “Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” (Matthew 21: 21, 22)
“Now and then, we make discoveries which almost take your breath away, namely, when we see what great powers are present in this realm of the invisible. This is especially true when these powers are put to our disposal, when God performs a mighty miracle simply because we ask Him to do so.”
Dr. Hallesby made it plain that absolutely all of God's promises are TRUE, even though we cannot understand them. Since He created everything out of Nothing, and raised Jesus Christ from the dead, certainly He can move a mountain or two if He so desires!
The problem is that we are so infantile in our faith. The solution is in getting to know our Saviour more intimately through prayer, His Word and by the Holy Spirit. If we are able to believe with all our heart that He means what He says and trust Him with no reservation, we will see His almighty power operate in our lives in afar greater measure!
HAVE THE FAITH OF GOD!
“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” (Matt. 21: 22). Faith in God can move mountains of doubt, unbelief, fear, sickness, disease and premature death. Jesus, however, was informing His disciples of what it means to be one with God and the awesome power of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. He was actually saying, “Have the faith of God!
Jesus promised, “But ye shall receive POWER, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be WITNESSES unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8).
How can we be witnesses unto Him? How can we prove to the world that Jesus Christ is truly the Son of God? By proving through the healing of the sick and suffering and other great miracles in answer to our prayers in Jesus Name, we continue to prove His words are true! Praise the Lord!
We are healed by the Person of Jesus Christ. We are saved, forgiven, freed and liberated from Sin, Fear, Sickness and Disease by the Word of God Himself. Surely, we are witnesses for Christ to a sinful, sick and troubled world!
IN THE BEGINNING!
The Holy Scriptures declare: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was Life and the Life was the Life of men.
“He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory as of the ONLY BEGOTTEN of the Father full of grace and truth.” (John 1: 1-4,10, 14)
The Word was before the beginning of all things. He created all things! The Holy Scriptures does not say: In the beginning was a word or many words, but ‘the Word’. Jesus of Nazareth was the INCARNATE Word sent from God the Father to be the propitiation for our sins.
St. John writes: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous: And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 1: 1,2).
The word propitiation means satisfaction, mercy seat, expiation. God the Father was satisfied with the sacrificial death of His own Son to atone for the sins of Adam and the entire world of sinning men, in meeting the Righteous Demands of Divine Justice in the Courts of Heaven!
The Holy Bible is the written Word of God and Jesus Himself is the Living Word of God! He gives us the assurance: “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He (JESUS) hath said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE.” (Heb.13:5)
GOD'S WORD CANNOT FAIL!
Here, Jesus used a double imperative. He actually said, “I will never, no never leave thee. I will never, no never forsake thee.” St. Matthew records our Master: “...and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world (age).” (Matt. 28: 20)
The term always is a measure of time and the word alway is a measure of distance. Jesus promised to go the distance with us, all the way until we meet Him face to face!
An old Sunday school chorus says, 'With Jesus in the vessel, we can smile at the storm, smile at the storm, smile at the storm. With Jesus in the vessel, we can smile at the storm, as we go sailing Home.'
And that is abundantly true. Whatever enemy we face, we will overcome. We have ultimate peace, assurance and victory through the BLOOD of the Everlasting Covenant, the Eternal Word of God, the Blessed Holy Spirit and the Matchless Name of Jesus Christ.
He, Who is the Liberator of lost humanity, the Emancipator of the human race, the Saviour of the world and the Great Physician, has already won the Battle for us!
We are fully armed with the precious promises of God, the Sword of the Spirit, purged by the Blood of the Lamb and endued with the Power and presence of the Holy Spirit and hidden with Christ in God the Father Almighty, one true God, world without end!
The Bible says: "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. Fear thou for I am with thee: be not dismayed for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness!
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of Me, saith the Lord.” (Is.54: 17)
GOD'S ANOINTING HEALS!
The Holy Spirit's anointing destroys the YOKE. He equips us with the anointing of God that breaks the yoke of satanic power and bondage and frees us to live in victory to serve the Lord with gladness and fruitfulness!
The Bible says: “But we have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.” (1 John 2:20). “Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us with you is God.” (2 Cor. 1: 21). “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet (qualified) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His Son: In Whom we have redemption through His Blood, even the forgiveness of our sins. Who is the IMAGE of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him:
“And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the Church: Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things, He might have the pre-eminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell.
“And having made peace through the blood of His Cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or in Heaven. And you, that were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the Body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight.” (Col. 1: 12-22)
Jesus declared: “And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning FALL from Heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10: 18, 19)
STANDING ON GOD’S WORD!
I stand on God's Word and the Promises of Jesus Christ! He said: “Come unto Me all ye who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matt. 11:28-30)
Satan's yoke is heavy and is hard to bear! The wicked devil takes his slave to eternal death. He promises an exciting time with no strings attached, but he is a Deceiver and a proficient and talented Liar. Satan enslaves those who follow his pernicious ways and ultimately leads them to destruction and Hell.
Christ's yoke is different. He carries the heavy load. His yoke frees us to live a life of righteousness, peace and joy. He shatters sinful habits, destroys sickness and disease and ultimately carries us to be with Him in His glory!
He is the Heavy Lifter, that bore our sins and sicknesses to the Cross. He carried our pains, fears and sorrows to Golgotha when He made the supreme sacrifice for us all. He met the Demands of Divine Justice in payment for our eternal salvation, through His vicarious (substitutionary) death for us!
The Holy Bible states: “Surely He hath borne our sicknesses (heb. makob), and carried our pains (heb. nasa): yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid upon Him the iniquity of us all.” (Is. 53: 4-6)
When Jesus cried: “It is finished”, He had purchased our salvation from sin, fear, sickness, disease and death. (John 19: 30). St. Paul declared: “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom. 5: 6, 7)
THE HOLY SPIRIT RAISED JESUS!
“But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead, shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Rom. 8: 11)
The Holy Scriptures teach the doctrine of the Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit: "Therefore, we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." (Rom. 6:4)
Jesus stated, ''Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up. But He spake of His body." (John 2: 17, 20)
The BIBLE teaches that, “God hath delivered us from the power of Darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son: In Whom we have redemption through His Blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” (Col. 1: 13, 14).
CHURCH WAS BORN IN FIRE!
As He had promised, Jesus sent the Blessed Holy Spirit upon His disciples on the Day of Pentecost and His Church was born in fire and great power:
“And when the Day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a mighty rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave utterance.” (Acts 2: 1-4)
Through His vicarious death for us all and His glorious resurrection from the dead, Jesus totally defeated Satan and the kingdom of Darkness. By His precious Blood, our Saviour has purchased all mankind for Himself and has given His church authority to take His Gospel to all who will believe on His name and repent of their sins.
Here is His great commission: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe;
“In My Name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.” (Mark 16: 15-18)
The Church was born on the Day of Pentecost and continues in His Name to carry out the mandate given us by our Lord Jesus Christ. Here is the example set by Christ's early followers: “And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word with SIGNS following. Amen.” (Mark 16: 20)
FAITH IS THE EVIDENCE!
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the Evidence of things not seen." (Heb. 11:1). Faith is knowing that you have those things you have prayed for, even before the the answer has come. Augustine said: "Faith is to believe what we do not see, and the reward of this faith is to see what we believe."
We are saved by faith.(Eph. 2: 8,9). We are justfied by faith. (Gal.1:6). We live by faith. (Gal. 3:11; Rom. 1:17; Heb.10:38); We are baptized in the Holy Spirit through faith. (Gal. 3:5). We minister the Holy Spirit to others through faith. (Gal. 3:5); We minister Divine Healing by faith. (Gal. 3:5; We walk by Faith. (2 Cor. 5: 7)
God's Word states: "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.'' (1 John 1:7)
JESUS said, ''Ask and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receivth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened unto him. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall you Father which is in Heaven give good gifts to themk that ask Him? ''
''Verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven and whatsoever ye shall lose on earth shall loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in Heaven.'' (Matt.18: 18-20)
''Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in Me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself. But the Father, but the Father that dwelleth in Me He doeth the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me: or else believe Me for the very works' sake.
IF YE SHALL ASK IN MY NAME!
''Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto My Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in My name, I will do it.'' (John 14: 10-14)
''Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will FLEE from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift thee up.'' (James 4: 7-10).
The Bible states: "For by grace are ye saved through Faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." (Eph. 2:8,9); "For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end." (Heb.3:14):
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." (Rom.5: 1,2)
"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Cor. 6: 19, 20)
JOHN WESLEY stated: “Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin, and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergymen or laymen; such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on Earth.”
HUDSON TAYLOR spent 51 years as a missionary to China. It is said that the sun never rose over China without finding Hudson Taylor on his knees praying for that country! He said: "China is not to be won for Christ by quiet, ease-loving men and women … The stamp of men and women we need is such as will put Jesus, China, [and] souls first and foremost in everything and at every time—even life itself must be secondary."
Let us make a new resolve to reach Canada for Christ! Let is begin today to bring our loved ones, neighbours and other to the Saviour now, before it is too late! Amen.
