WHY GOD HEALS THE SICK
By Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
The Holy Bible is the “Book of God”. It is filled with the Life of God, the Love of God, and the Wisdom of God! It is Inspired, Complete, and Perfect! It was given to us by Almighty God through holy men of God and His prophets:
“For the prophecy came
not in old time by will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by
the Holy Ghost.” (2 Peter 1:21): “All Scriptures is given by inspiration of
God, and is profitable for doctrine, for correction in righteousness.” (2
Tim.3:16)
The Bible focuses on
Jesus Christ in both the New and Old Testaments. He is found in every book of
the Bible. Jesus is the centre and the circumference. He is revealed as the Son
of God and God the Son:
“Believest thou not that I am in the
Father and the Father in Me? The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of
Myself; but the Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works.” (John 14:14:
10)
The Holy Scripture states: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1: 1,2, 14)
CHRIST HIMSELF IS ETERNAL LIFE!
It shows us the Way of
Salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross on Golgotha, His
vicarious death and glorious resurrection: “Grace be to you and Peace from
God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins,
that He might Deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of
God the Father: To whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Gal.1:3-5)
St. Paul, a former
Christ hater, wrote concerning His Lord and Saviour: “But now in Christ Jesus
ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the BLOOD of Christ. For He is
our PEACE, who hath made both (Jews & Gentiles), and hath broken
down the middle wall of partition between us ….
Harold Bredesen said: “It is easy
to get to know Jesus, but it is harder to get to know His Father.” I pondered that for some time. Jesus is
available all the time. His ears are open to our cry for mercy. He came to the
earth to be our Saviour through His vicarious death on Golgotha and His
glorious resurrection from the dead, for our justification!
He said: “All things are
delivered unto Me by My Father: and no man knoweth the Son but the Father;
neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son
will reveal Him. Come unto Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me; for I am meek and
lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and
My burden is light.” (Matt.11: 27-30)
Only by receiving Jesus Christ into our heart are we able know the Father. The Holy Spirit, through the precious BLOOD of Jesus presents us to God the Father. Returning St. Paul’s epistle to the Ephesians we read: That He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the CROSS, having slain the enmity thereby… For through Him, we both have access by one Spirit (Holy) unto the Father.” (Eph. 2: 13-18)
CHRIST IS OUR PEACE!
The Bible guides us
through our lifetime. It brings peace in our mind, gives healing to our body
and joy to our spirit. It brings deliverance from evil spirits and fear, angst,
and condemnation. The Bible is holy and fosters righteousness and promotes
grace, goodness, and mercy in those who study its words and follow its laws and
concepts!
There are many reasons why I believe the Bible is God’s Word. The main reason, however, is that Jesus, the Eternal Son of God believed the Holy Scriptures, taught them and lived by them. It will be opened on the day of Judgment! And that is good enough for me!
Only Jesus Christ has the power and authority to deliver us from the power of Satan and give us His power to cast out devils, heal the sick and liberate lost souls. His vicarious death on the Cross on Golgotha's Hill and glorious resurrection from the dead three days later, purchased our redemption.
Jesus
Christ invites us: “Come unto Me all ye who labour and are heavy laden and I
will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28). Amen.
