"Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry." (Acts 17:16)

If there ever was a time Christians need to be Stirred, it is now.  Stirred to holy anger, righteous indignation, and missionary zeal! Stirred about the onslaught of the Evil One, in his "urgent campaign" to enslave billions of lost souls across the world!

Stirred about the scary rise of the deceptive New Age Movement and their subtle infiltration of our educational systems, governmental agencies, business corporations and churches!

Stirred about the complacency and acquiescence of an increasing number of spineless politicians and clergy - who in order to please constituents and parishioners - are caving in to unreasonable demands by abortionists, sodomites and lesbians!

Stirred about the sins of child abuse, incest and sexual molestation by authoritarian figures, parents, relatives, or family friends!  And about the acceptance by many of suicide as a valid way out of depression, terminal illness and other unpleasant situations!

STIRRED ABOUT THE TRAGIC BREAK-UP OF MANY HOMES, THE SPIRALLING DIVORCE RATE, HIGH INCIDENCE OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE, GAMBLING, VIOLENCE AMONG THE YOUTH!

Stirred by the awful carnage in our hospitals; the aborting of millions of unborn babies world-wide and in some cities, the jailing of "the rescuers" who are seeking to save these precious lives.

Stirred about laws that jail someone for killing certain species of animals and birds, while licensing medical doctors, who are trained to save lives, to exterminate large numbers of unborn human babies on a regular basis!

How tragic that Queen Elizabeth’s Representative bestowed the ‘Order of Canada’ - our nation’s highest distinction - on the late abortionist Henry Morgentaler!  That our Governor General would honour a person who DISCRIMINATED against motherhood and unborn babies is a travesty!

The heart of our Heavenly Father must be stirred to the "boiling point", of unleashing upon this wicked world His unprecedented wrath and judgment, because of these and other infamies!

 THERE IS MAJOR CAUSE FOR CONCER

Stirred enough to get off the "comfortable pew" to change the spiritual complexion of our communities, our cities, our nation, and our world ... to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God! (Acts 26:22)

 Stirred enough to warn this generation of coming judgment upon a world that has rejected its Saviour and a Church that has become lukewarm, complacent and uncaring!

 Oh, that God would burden our hearts to fast, pray and intercede for a lost world that has "gone out of control"!

The Bible states: “If My people which are called by My name shall HUMBLE themselves and PRAY and SEEK My face and TURN from their wicked ways, Then will I hear from Heaven and I will forgive their sins and I will HEAL their land.” (2 Ch.7: 14)

There are four things that we must do if we are to see a ‘mighty revival and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit’: Humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways!

God hates pride and He loves humility. Prayer is communing with our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord! The only approach to God is through sincere, honest, determined prayer. To seek God’s face means to get to know our Heavenly Father and get close enough to Him to have intimate conversations with Him. Turning from our sins through repentance and faith, leads to a life of holiness and purity!

The Bible says: “Beloved, If our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing inn His sight.” (1 John 3: 21-22)

 ST. PAUL saw the rampant idolatry in Athens and his heart was stirred within him, to do something about it! Immediately, he involved himself in preaching the Gospel on Mars Hill at the Acropolis - across from the Parthenon - to the learned men of Greece!

His message was Jesus Christ and His resurrection.  He preached repentance and warned of coming judgment!

"...God now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by THAT MAN Whom He hath Ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He raised Him from the dead." (Acts 7: 30-31)

Some scoffed but others said, "We will hear thee again of this matter". We also must become stirred enough to begin reading the Bible seriously, praying fervently and witnessing aggressively for our Blessed Lord Jesus!

WE NEED TO BE STIRRED SO GREATLY, THAT WE WILL GLADLY DEDICATE MORE OF OUR MATERIAL GOODS TO THE WORK OF THE MINISTRY. OUR MAJOR CONCERN SHOULD BE THE SOULS OFMEN AND THEIR ETERNAL DESTINY!

 It's too late ‘in the game’ to expect things to turn around quickly, if we don't ‘go all out’ in this last and vital inning of the world's history!

Now is the time to decide for Christ.  Now is the time to dedicate ourselves totally, without reservation to the task of winning our loved ones, neighbours and friends to Him, before it is too late!

LET US PRAY: "Dear Heavenly Father, by Thy great wisdom, power and grace please lead us in Thy perfect will, so that we may reach key people for Thy Kingdom.  Be merciful O’ God and spare us all by sending a gracious revival to our Land. 

“Begin in me O’ Lord; forgive and cleanse my spirit, soul, and mind. And heal my body for Thy glory. I give myself to Thee, to be Thy servant and a channel through which Thy great love and power will flow to others bringing strength and life to all.

 “I repent of my envy, pride, jealousy, back-biting, gossiping, and lying!  'Not my will, but Thy will O God'. Fill us all with unconditional love and holy compassion to reach our communities with the Gospel of Christ.

“Fill us O’ Lord, with holy love, boldness, and compassion.  Free us from all fear, timidity, and false humility, so that Thy Church may become militant for Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.” In Jesus’ precious and Holy Name, I pray. Amen

"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8).

In my opinion this is one of the greatest statements ever uttered by mortal man. It is loaded with truth and clearly defines the basic doctrines of God! Not only does it state in broad strokes the reason God sent His Son to the earth, but it allows us to see His plans and purposes for His Church!

 This Scripture deals with two powers, the one Good and the other Evil, and the Goodness of God in destroying the Evil works of the Devil. The Purpose of God is the Salvation of the human Family in destroying Satan’s ability to harm us. In His great wisdom, Almighty God our Heavenly Father sent His Eternal Son Jesus Christ to earth to redeem us all from satanic slavery! 

 The Bible states: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not PERISH but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3: 16,17)

ADAM’S SIN OF HIGH TREASON!

In the Courts of Heaven, Adam’s Sin of High Treason against the Creator was so grievous that Eternal Life on earth was cancelled. The process of Death had already begun within Adam and Eve and that process would continue among their posterity!  To restore fellowship between man and His Creator, the sin debt of Adam had to be paid!

 An innocent man had to die for the sins of the world and rise from the dead.  Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son was incarnated, (God in human flesh) conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin as the Second Adam, be crucified and rise from the dead in power and great glory, to seal the Redemption of Mankind!

TO RESTORE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD!

St. Paul wrote: “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteousness, and godly, in this present world:

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Who Gave Himself for us, that He might Redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar (purchased) people, zealous of good works.” (Titus 2:11-14)

The Bible says: “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps …Who His own Self bare our sins in His own body on the tree (cross), that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: By Whose STRIPES ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

“When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirits with His Word and Healed all that were Sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.” (Matt. 8: 16,17, Is. 53: 4,5)

HOLY SPIRIT INTERCEDES FOR US!

The Bible says: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me Free from the law of sin and death.

“But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Rom. 8:1,11)

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities (takes a hold of against our infirmities): for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Rom. 8: 26). When we pray for guidance in other tongues, the Holy Spirit prays through us to the Father! Praise be unto God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord!

“He that spared not His Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Rom.8:32)

Nothing can separate us from the mercy, grace, and love of our Heavenly Father! The Word of God states that since God did not spare His Son but sent Him to the Cross to purchase our salvation, and because JESUS IS ALIVE today, sitting on His Father’s Right hand, we are welcome to everything He purchased for us!

THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL!

JESUS came against these works of the Devil: Sin, Fear, Poverty, Sickness and Disease, Demons!

SIN: “But if we walk in the Light as He is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7): “In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (Eph. 1:7)

The only antidote for sin is the blood of Jesus Christ, shed for us all on the Cross on Golgotha: “How much more shall the BLOOD of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.” (Heb.9: 14)

FEAR: “For God hath not given you the spirit of Fear; but of Power and Love and of a Sound Mind.” (2 Tim. 1:7). God has given us Power over the devil, the Love of God, and a Sound Mind. Hallelujah!

 “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come unto thy dwelling.” (Ps.91: 10); “Fear thou not for I am with thee: be not dismayed for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee. Yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.” (Is. 41:10)

POVERTY: “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Phil.4:19); “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them for with the same hat are the called according to His purpose,” (Rom.8:28)

“Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” (Luke 6:38): “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not Want.” (Ps. 23:1)

SICKNESS & DISEASE: “Is any sick among you, let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of Faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” (James 5:14,15)

“Surely, He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are Healed.” (Is, 53:4,5); Who His own Self bare our sins in His own body on the Tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: BY WHOSE STRIPES YE WERE HEALED.” (1 Peter 2:24)

DEMONS & EVIL SPIRITS: “And these signs shall follow them that believe: In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they shall lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover.” (Mark 16: 15-20).

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee (in terror) from you.” (James 4:7)

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN!

In the Garden of Eden, God Almighty delivered His long-range prophetical plan for the salvation of mankind and the deliverance of the human family! Adam and Eve had just committed the world's first sinful act. They had disobeyed God and rebelled against His commands.  Sin had impacted God's special creation - man - whom He had made in His own image and likeness.

Sin, however, was in the world because Satan - the father of sin and death - had been cast out of Heaven and is the 'Prince of the power of the air', as well as the 'god of this world'. (Eph. 2:2; 2 Cor. 4:4).

He had caused previous disruption (Gen. 1:2) and chaos. (Ez. 28:13-19; Is. 14:12-17).  In his rebellion and hatred for God, Satan had cunningly planned his strategy by tempting Eve. The great transgression had been made.  (Job 1:8-22, 2:1-8; Gen. 3:1-6)

Now for the moment of truth.  How would Adam and Eve feel?  Would they be wise as God, as Satan had promised?  Was the rebellion worth it?  A thousand times NO! Their eyes were opened! 

SATAN GREATEST LIAR!

"But, what did they see?  Their own vulnerability, stupidity, weakness, sin, and nakedness!  Fear stalked and filled their souls.  They were naked, vulnerable, and inadequate.  Now they must face the music and meet God alone!

Where was Satan?  Where was the wise tempter?  Gone to gloat over his victory.  Not far away, probably hiding behind a tree to see the inevitable outcome; the separation, dis-fellowshipping of God and His special creation, man!  Evil satisfaction filled his heart as he observed Adam and Eve's plight, their confusion, perplexity, fear, and terror! They heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day.  God said, "Adam where art thou?"

As God called Adam that day, He is still calling us today.  "John, where are you.  Mary, where are you?” Adam answered, "We are hiding, we are naked, we are afraid"!  God questioned, "Who told you that you were naked?  You were clothed with My glory.  Have you eaten of the fruit that I forbad you"? 

Adam gave a typical answer from a typical sinner!  He said, "The woman you gave me, she gave me of the fruit.”  It is Eve's fault, she gave me the forbidden fruit and it's really Your fault, Lord, because You gave me the woman.”

EVERYONE LIKES TO PASS THE BUCK!

It seems normal for people to justify themselves, pass the buck, or blame someone else rather than take it on the chin, saying, "I made a mistake, I am wrong, please forgive me"! It's like the preacher who enjoyed portraying women in a negative way. 

One Sunday morning as he was preaching on 'The Fall of Man', he vigorously attacked Eve.  If Eve - the weaker vessel - hadn't fallen, the world wouldn't be in the mess it's now in.  He nailed Jezebel and Delilah.  "Women are the ruination of many good men" he shouted.

At the close of the service, the minister stood at the door shaking hands.  Some complimented him on a wonderful sermon, others were glad to get out the door. A tall lady shook his hand, and she wasn't smiling.  She gripped his hand, looked him square in the eye and asked, "Pastor, what is the telephone number of the Garden of Eden"? 

He said, "I don't know what you are talking about"!  She spoke again, "Pastor, do you know the telephone number of the Garden of Eden"?  He answered, "Woman, I do not and by the way you are hurting me"!  She said, "Well, I know the telephone number of the Garden of Eden.  It's Adam 8-1-2", and she let go of his hand and left. Adam ate one too!  Eve wasn't the only one to blame.  Adam also disobeyed God!

THE DEVIL IS TO BLAME!

God didn't argue with Adam.  He turned to Eve and said, "Woman, what is this that thou hast done?"  Eve put the blame where it belonged.  "The serpent beguiled me and I did eat”! Satan is the culprit.  The devil is to blame for all the sin, fear, heartbreak, divorce, alcoholism, drug addiction and juvenile delinquency.  

He is the architect of all that is evil, wicked, and destructive.  Riots, anarchy, thievery, murder, sickness, disease, and war are the outcroppings and results of his plans, goals, purposes, and seduction!

Satan is to blame!  Shout it loud and clear, the devil is the troublemaker! Jesus called him a liar, deceiver, murderer, and thief. (John 8:44; 10:10) Our Lord said, "The thief cometh not for to steal, kill and destroy.  I am come that they might have life and more abundantly. (John 10:10) Yes, Satan is to blame! God said, "THE SEED OF THE WOMAN SHALL BRUISE THE SERPENT'S HEAD.”

Almighty God declared: "Because thou hast done this, cursed art thou among all the beasts of the field.  Upon thy belly shalt thou go all the days of thy life..." (Gen. 3:14,15). It is noteworthy that some scientists believe that at one time serpents and snakes walked upright and didn't crawl on their bellies as today.

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed (the wicked) and her seed (the righteous).  It (Jesus, the seed of the woman) shall bruise (crush) thy head..."

On Golgotha's Hill, Jesus defeated the devil!  When He paid the supreme sacrifice for the sins of the world, and rose again from the dead, He had delivered the death blow to Satan! When Jesus cried, "It is finished", He had defeated Satan and since that very hour the blood of Jesus Christ washes away all the sins of the repentant sinner, and His stripes bring healing to the believing sick person.

The Holy Bible says, "He (Jesus) was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and by His stripes we are healed". (Isaiah 53:5)

WHY DID JESUS COME INTO THE WORLD?

The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:16-17) Hallelujah!

The Bible says:  "Neither is there salvation through any other, for there is none other name under Heaven given among men whereby you may be saved, but by the Name of Jesus"! (Acts 4:12) “There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus". (1 Tim. 2:5).

Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly". (John 10:10) And St. John stated: "For this purpose was the Son of God manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil"! (1 John 3:8)

WHAT DID ISAIAH PROPHESY?

The Bible says, "Who His own self (Jesus) bare our sins in His own body on the tree (cross) that we, being dead to sins should live unto righteousness, by Whose stripes ye were (at the cross) healed"! (1 Peter 2:24). “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:  and he that believeth on the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on Him". (John 3:36)

THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY!

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the Father but by Me". (John 14:6) Our blessed Saviour said, "I am the door, by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved..." (John 10:9) Again He said, "Come unto Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest". (Matt. 11:28). Jesus Christ is the only hope, life, and salvation of this world. Amen.

                         TIME FOR MAJOR CORRECTION                                                  ABOUT LAW, WISDOM & PEACE

“Great peace have they which love Thy law; and nothing shall offend them.” (Ps. 119: 165)

There is a famine in the world today! A dearth of genuine wisdom and understanding is crippling society and making idiots out of supposedly intelligent human beings.  This is happening in society in general: academia, government, the entertainment world, the judicial system and even in the church!

 Anyone driving past one of the many Casinos in our cities – early in the morning or late at night - will notice hundreds of vehicles in their huge parking lot! In my opinion, only a lost or misguided person would give his or her valuable time to such a senseless, corrupting, and degenerate pastime!

NEO -FASCISM IN CANADA

As one observes the lack of moral values, coupled with the ‘neo-fascism doctrine’ of political correctness - which labels anyone who disagrees with their concept as fascists - being taught in our universities - it is easy to understand why the majority of Canadians would have sustained a corrupt government for 12 years, even though they pushed through Parliament some of the most immoral and discriminatory laws ever enacted.

You say: “Wait a minute. What are you talking about? Which laws?” Well, let me give you just two for starters: Is it not immoral and imbecilic to pass a law that allows courts to lower the age of consent for sodomy from 18 years to 14 to satisfy the perverted lusts of dirty old men who salivate for young boys’ bodies?

HERE IS THE BENCHMARK RULING:

In the 1995 Rosenberg decision, a Canadian Federal Court ruled that the age of consent for SODOMY must be reduced to 14 years from 18, since anal sex is “a basic form of expression for gay men.”  Is that not blatant discrimination against impressionable boys to be corrupted by sexual perverts?

The above UNHOLY and EVIL Law that brought pedophiles to Canada in search of 14-year-old boys to lawfully molest is now history. By the grace of God, the empty-headed people who enacted that perverted Law have since lost their power in Ottawa.

 On May 1, 2008, Prime Minister Stephen Harper – much to the disappointment of the Liberal Party – prevailed in passing a new law protecting children from pedophiles by raising the age of consent for anal sex from 14 to 16 years of age!

MOST EXPLICIT TV PORN IN CANADA!

And when one considers Canada’s non-law on PORNOGRAPHY it doesn’t surprise us that our nation – according to news reports - is credited with “having the most explicit TV porn in the world.” Below is an excerpt from a recent article by Shannon Kari in CanWest News Service, Toronto:

“Along with calls for more liberal marijuana laws and the legalization of homosexual marriage, Canadians may also become known for having more explicit adult content available on television than any other country in the world.

“In the past 12 months, two new 24-hour-a-day X-rated channels have launched on digital cable and direct-home satellite. As well, the specialty channel The Movie Network has expanded explicit content to four nights a week and the introduction of video-on-demand technology has dramatically increased the number of adult films offered to Canadian television consumers.

“The main beneficiaries of the dramatic increase in pornographic content are the cable and satellite distributors in Canada, who make as much as 70 cents of every dollar from pay-per-view or subscription-based adult purchases on television. It is not an insignificant market. According to the California-based trade publication Adult Video News, sales and rentals of Adult films (including television-based sales) topped $4 billion US in North America in 2002.

 “In December 2000, Ten Broadcasting was among the dozens of applicants that were awarded “category2” digital television licences by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission. With titles such as Young Sluts Inc. #3 or Teens Gone Bad # 2, the channels live up to a promise on the X website to offer “an alternate to the traditional softer programming seen on most adult specialty channels by broadcasting much more explicit movies 24/7.”

 DIVINE LAW & JUSTICE!

How could this have happened in Canada? Why did we allow this horrible degeneracy to infect our children and grandchildren? What has our government done to us? Why have the Preachers in our nation not cried out against this filth? O’ God forgive us for our complacency and indifference! Help us in this desperate hour of sin and ungodliness and perversion, I pray in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Lucien Maynard, MLA delivered an impassioned speech on August 6, 1937, in the Alberta Legislature about the government’s duty to help starving people (during the Great Depression) and keeping the banks in check.

In his memorable speech Lucien Maynard made a compelling and eloquent defense of Divine law and Justice. He stated that in order for human law to be legitimate and respected, it must be in accord with Divine Law and Justice!

Here is an excerpt of that speech: “Another matter I want to refer to is British justice and British fair play and a law that is higher than any statutory law, I mean the Divine Law of God… Mr. Speaker, there is something greater than the law of man, and that is the law of God, and I maintain that when human legislators have so forgotten themselves as to pass laws that contravene the divine law rather than iniquitous and perverse human law.

 “I will go further. No man has the right, no legislator has the right, to pass a law in contravention of the law of God. Mr. Speaker, I will go still further. No man is obliged to obey a human law which contravenes the law of God, and no judge has the right to uphold any human law which violates the divine law.”

 WHY THE FAMINE OF WISDOM?

 The famine is not for bread but for the Bread of Life - God’s Word. Not because the Word of God is scarce, but because human wisdom has pushed aside the true wisdom that comes from God alone!

Secular Humanism has pushed its ugly head into almost every area of society like a fifth column to destroy belief in God, family values, decency, and respect!

How are they doing that? Though the promotion of abortion, which has aptly been called the ‘Holocaust of the Unborn’, the elevation of the unproven, deceptive, and false theory of evolution as FACT, and the elevation of the filthy, immoral practice of buggery – SODOMY – to a normal alternate sexual lifestyle!

The Bible says: “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are (empty) vain.” (1 Cor.3: 19-20)

St. Paul identifies worldly wisdom as being FOOLISHNESS and EMPTY! He states that Jesus was condemned to death by religious leaders, who were considered intelligent. He was crucified by a Governor who declared, “I find no fault in Him.” (Luke 23: 4)

He states: “But we speak the wisdom of God in mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory. Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.” (1 Cor.2: 7-8)

“And from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Tim.3: 15-17)

PEACE THROUGH GOD’S WORD!

There is GREAT WISDOM in God’s Word. All we need to do is obey the Holy Scriptures and bend our will in conformity to His will! Under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, King David stated:

“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether...” (Ps. 19: 7-10)

The Bible says: “Great peace have they that love Thy law.” (Ps. 119: 165); “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee; because he trusted in Thee.” (Is. 26: 3)

The problem is that many people put their trust in something other than the Lord. They are unwilling to humble themselves and repent of their pride and self-sufficiency! God wants to bless mankind and has given us every opportunity to receive His blessing, but human nature is such that it often rebels against His righteousness and goodness:

The Prophet wrote: “I create the fruit of the lips; PEACE, PEACE to him that is far off, and to him that is near, says the Lord; and I will heal him. But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, says my God, unto the wicked.” (Is. 57: 19-21)

Here is God’s indictment against unbelievers: “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot SAVE; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot HEAR: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.” (Is. 59: 1-2)

JESUS IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE!

Seven hundred years before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Isaiah prophesied the birth of the Messiah: “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel (God with us).” (Is. 7: 14)

“For unto us a child is born and unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, The Mighty God. The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Is. 9: 6)

Jesus Christ said: “Come unto Me all ye who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matt.11: 28); “I am the light of the world: he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

 “Ye are from beneath; I am from Above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am HE (Messiah), ye shall die in your sins.” (John 8: 23-24). You may ask: “Exactly what is the law of God?”

Jesus was asked the same question: “Master what is the great commandment of the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great (most important) commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matt.22: 36-40)

 ALBERT EINSTEIN GIVES SOUND ADVICE!

 The great physicist Albert Einstein shared some good advice on how to achieve ‘peace of mind’! Here it is: “Tell the truth to everyone; reconcile any anger before you pillow your head; stand up to temptation; don't take anything that isn't yours; do an honest day's work, and share what you have with those who are in need.”

All good advice is derived directly or indirectly from the Holy Scriptures, whether it comes through the mouth of a theologian, philosopher, judge, politician, or teacher! Let’s examine Professor Einstein’s quote!

TELL THE TRUTH TO EVERYBODY:

 “Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things HONEST in the sight of all men.” (Rom.12: 17); “Let us walk HONESTLY, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.” (Rom.13: 13)

“Having your conversation (lifestyle) among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation (judgment).” (1 Peter 2: 12); “Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live HONESTLY.” (Heb.13: 18)

RECONCILE ANY ANGER BEFORE YOU PILLOW YOUR HEAD

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath.” (Eph.4: 26); “Let all bitterness and wrath, and ANGER, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you with all malice. “And be ye kind on to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” (Eph.4: 31-32)

“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that thy brother hath aught against thee. Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be RECONCILED to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.” (Matt.5: 23-24)

“But God commends His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” (Rom.5: 8-10)

STAND UP TO TEMPTATION

“And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matt.6: 13); “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” (1 Cor.10: 13)

“Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love Him. Let no man say when he is tempted I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempted He any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.” (James 1: 12-14)

DON’T TAKE ANYTHING THAT ISN’T YOURS

“Thou shall not STEAL.” (Ex. 21: 15); “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shall not commit adultery, Thou shall not kill, Thou shall not STEAL, Thou shall not bear false witness, Thou shall not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this one saying, namely, Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Rom.13: 9)

“But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a THIEF, or as an evil doer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but him glorify God on this behalf.” (1 Peter 4: 15-16). “Let him that stole, STEAL no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.” (Eph.4: 28)

DO AN HONEST DAY’S WORK

“Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walks disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you.

“Neither did we eat any man’s bread for naught; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

“For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, WORKING NOT AT ALL, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.” (2 Thes.3: 6-13)

SHARE WHAT YOU HAVE WITH THOSE IN NEED

“He that hath pity upon the POOR lends to the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.” (Prov.19: 17); “He that gives unto the POOR shall not lack: but he that hides his eyes shall have many a curse.” (Prov.28: 27). “But this I say, He that sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him GIVE, not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful GIVER.” (2 Cor.9: 6-7); “Yea, ye yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my necessities, and to them that were with me. I have showed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to SUPPORT THE WEAK, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus Christ, how He said, It is more blessed to GIVE than to receive.” (Acts 20: 34-36).

A REVIVAL OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

We desperately need a revival of righteousness in Canada! It isn’t too late to stop the serious drift toward total corruption and degradation in our society, our homes, schools, governments, courts, media and churches.

The real need is among the clergy of our nation! We must experience the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and be filled with the blessed Holy Spirit. Then, we will be able to communicate His love and mercy to those around about us, and the Spirit’s fire will spread to our communities and across the nation!

Oh, how we all need God’s compassion to turn us into genuine representatives of His Kingdom, spreading the message of forgiveness, peace, and divine healing that Jesus Christ died and rose again to provide for us! May the Word of God and the Holy Spirit drive us to our knees in repentance and prayer for our loved ones, neighbours and fellow men!      

Dear Lord, help us in this desperate hour of sin, and perversion, I pray in Jesus’ name! Amen

                      GOOD NEWS FOR FALLEN MAN

The Gospel is Good News for Fallen Man! It is the Glad Tidings of the great love, mercy and grace of God projected toward a sinful and rebellious race! The Evangelical Dictionary of Theology states: "The Gospel is the joyous proclamation of God's activity in Christ on behalf of man." 

 In every nation, in all ages and in all seasons, true believers in Jesus Christ and His glorious Gospel herald the amazing Bible account of the God's great mercy and grace toward sinful man. The word Gospel means Good News!

The Gospel is the good news and the glad tidings that Light has come into a world of Darkness; that Peace has come into a world of Turmoil; that Healing has come into a world of Sickness; that that Love has come into a world of Hate; that Forgiveness has come into a world of Sin; that Life has come into a world of Death; that Freedom has come into a world of Bondage; that Slaves are made free by the Liberator of the Human Race!

And that Light, Peace, Healing, Love, Forgiveness, Life, Liberty, Freedom, and Eternal Life is none other than Jesus Christ the Son of God. That He was crucified for us, arose from the dead and sitting on the Right hand of God as Saviour, Redeemer, Advocate, High Priest, and Intercessor!

Soon the usual liberal "enemies of the cross" theologians and their lapdogs, the money hungry Hollywood Producers and actors, will be spreading lies and falsehoods about Jesus Christ and His Gospel. I found this powerful statement on Google recently: It was my position in 1993 and it is my position today, in 2022. The Western Report Feb. 8, 1993, story of Christian Unity in Alberta carried this excerpt: 

“Edmonton’s Dr. Max Solbrekken is more blunt: ‘We can’t sit at the same table with people who presume to change the word of God - call God the Father ‘she,’ license homosexual acts, change Christ’s own words on marriage, or deny that He rose from the dead. That’s blasphemy. The only truth that unites Christians is the person of Jesus, and he is not negotiable. I’m all for Christians joining together, but Christ is the living Word, not an ‘evolving idea,’ and He doesn’t change with the times.”

FROM THE MANGER TO THE CROSS!

What a journey Jesus Christ had: From the Manger to the Cross - the Cross of Calvary - the place of pain, shame, and agony, where our Saviour shed His precious blood to set the captives free! Christ's vicarious (substitutionary) death and glorious resurrection from the dead drives us to Repentance and Faith, as we see His hand of mercy extended to a lost, fearful, and sick world.

The Cross is the expression of God's love for us. It is the very pinnacle of His mercy and grace to an enslaved people, bound by lust, greed, pride, and hate. The Cross of Christ has been referred to as the axis of salvation, the climax of the cosmic battle between God and Satan, between good and evil!

JESUS said: "As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down My life for the sheep. Therefore, doth My Father love Me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again. "No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command have I received of My Father," (John 10: 15-18); "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15: 13)

"For when we were yet without strength (hopeless) in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

“Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." (Rom.5: 8-10)

THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD!

The Sovereignty of God demanded punishment for sin and the Cross provided the Final Solution! From the Gates of Eden - after the Fall - until the death of Jesus of Nazareth on Golgotha, God used the sacrificial system to forgive the sins of His people. Innocent lambs, goats and bulls were sacrificed as substitutes for sinning man!

When Jesus cried, "It is Finished", Almighty God rent the vail in the Temple and left the Holy of Holies. All the sins of the entire world (past, present and future) were transferred to His Paschal Lamb. The Great Transaction was complete. The Lamb of God had been sacrificed. He had propitiated for our sins. The Father was satisfied. The account was settled for time and eternity! The fountain of blood was opened for sin and uncleanness. His blood was flowing. JESUS had met the Demands of Divine Justice in the courts of Heaven, in payment for all our sins!

 

The word Jesus used was ‘Tetelestai’, from the Greek verb ‘teleo’, which has three essential meanings: To finish something, to bring something to an end; to fulfill something; to pay that which is owed.  Jesus had finished His work of Redemption. He had brought to an end Satan’s power; He had fulfilled all the Scriptures in the Old Testament about Himself; He had paid that which was owed!

"And he (thief) said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when Thou comest into Thy Kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with Me in Paradise. And the sun was darkened and the VAIL in the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He said, Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit: and having thus said, He gave up the ghost." (Luke 23: 42-46) 

THE GEAT EXCHANGE WAS DONE!

The sins of Adam that were imputed to the human race had now been transferred to God's incarnated Son. Our sins were imputed to Christ and in exchange, His righteousness was imputed to us! (Rom.3:21-26; 4:6-8; 5:11-21)

The BIBLE states: "But Christ being come an High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own Blood He entered in once into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

"For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ Who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the Living God?" (Heb. 9: 11-14)

Speaking about Jesus Christ to the pagan philosophers of Greece, St. Paul stated: "Forasmuch then that we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to Repent.

“Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man, Whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead." (Acts 17: 30, 31)

LIFE THROUGH THE BLOOD!    

 

DR. DEHANN wrote: “The blood of Jesus is sinless blood, and since it is incorruptible, for sin brings corruption and where no sin is, there is no corruption. Every drop of blood which flowed in Jesus’ body is still in existence, and is just as fresh as it was when it flowed from His broken skin in Gethsemane, the blood that was smeared about His back when the cruel weighted tongs cut through His flesh as the flagellator scourged Him, the blood that oozed out under the thorny crown and flowed from His hands, His head, His feet was never destroyed for it was  incorruptible blood.

 

“David, in speaking of Him in the 16th Psalm, while Peter quotes in Acts 2, says, “Thou wilt not leave His soul in Hell, nether wilt Thou suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption. Although the body of the Lord Jesus lay in the tomb in death for three days and nights with no corruption in it for that body contained incorruptible blood.”

DR. ANDREW MURRAY wrote: "Reconciliation and deliverance from guilt become the blessed entrance for us into a life in which the Blood, as it was transported into Heaven and abides there will be truly the power of divine abiding life in us." - The Blood of the Cross

MARTIN LUTHER stated: "First, the blood of Christ remains the same blood of Christ. For we believe and hold that the blood of Christ that is now at the Right Hand of God, was shed for us only once." - Church & Ministry, Luther's Works, vol. 40, p. 215

ST. PAUL states: "But this Man, because He continueth ever, hath an unchanging priesthood. Wherefore He is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God through Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.

 

"For such an High Priest became us, Who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens: Who needeth not daily, as those high priests to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's; for this He did ONCE, when He offered up Himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity, but the word of the OATH, which was since the law, maketh the SON, who is consecrated forevermore." (Heb.7:24-28)

MY CONFESSION OF FAITH!

Clearly stated, there is but ONE God and Father and ONE Lord Jesus Christ Who is both Creator and Sustainer of the world and Sole Saviour and Redeemer of the Human Race and ONE Blessed Holy Spirit of God, who draws all men to Christ!  

All other so-called gods and goddesses and deities are mere Counterfeits, Imitators and Pretenders. It is Christ and Christ Alone who saves, heals, delivers, and liberates from sin, fear, sickness, disease and all the powers of Darkness and Satan!  "But to us (Christians) there is but ONE God, the Father, of Whom are all things, and we in Him, and ONE Lord Jesus Christ by Whom are all things, and we by Him." (1 Cor. 8: 6). Amen

After discussing the outstanding miracle healings that had occurred under my ministry in Norway, the editor of ‘Telemark Avis’, a major Norwegian newspaper asked, “Who is Max Solbrekken?” I replied, “The boy delivering telegrams does his job and gets back on his bicycle, often without being thanked. The boy is not important, but the telegram is.  Max Solbrekken isn't important, but the message is very important. I am just a messenger boy for Jesus!” 

Next day's Newspaper had a large picture of this preacher, and the article covered a full page.  The headline screamed, “Max Solbrekken: A Messenger Boy for Jesus!” That was the most beautiful thing I could ever have written about me. I was so excited and thrilled to be publicly linked to Jesus in that manner. What an honour and privilege!

For more than 50 years, I have carried the Gospel of Jesus Christ to multitudes across the world, the Lord working with us and confirming the Word with miracles, sign and wonders!  From 1989 to 1995, God gave us many open doors across the former Soviet Union with great success. I will never forget touring Chernobyl, not long after the catastrophic nuclear explosion there. We preached in the new town of Slavutich, forty miles away.

In 2004 and 2005, together with Dr. Manoel Ferreira of the Assemblies of God, Donna and I preached in four Ministers Conventions with a total of 10,000 preachers. And in Parque Brasil in Paulinia, S.P. Brazil I was invited to preach to more than 300,000 people on April 13, 2005. Our latest Gospel Unity Crusade was in Kampala, Uganda in 2011.

PREACHING TO MUSLIMS IN DARFUR!

One of my greatest joys was preaching to Muslims in Sudan including Darfur in 2006 and 2007. Norwegian Missionary Jan Ernst Gabrielsen and I had some glorious revivals there. Our time together with Dr. Boutros Boktor at the Assembly of God in Cairo Egypt in 2007 was special.

He said: “Dr. Max, there is a saying that once you drink of the waters of the Nile, you will come back again and again. We want you to come back again and again.”  Sadly, before I could make it back to Cairo, the Lord called him Home.

Fortunately, I produced a video with Dr. Boktor of his experience as an Egyptian soldier on the Sinai desert during the Six Day War with Israel in 1967. In great detail, he related his one-on-one meeting with JESUS, and his miraculous escape from the bombardment by Israeli jets that killed hundreds and captured of several thousand of his fellow soldiers.

 To God be all the honour, praise and glory, through Jesus Christ the Lord! I praise Him for His grace and pure love with which He has showered Donna and me and our beautiful family throughout all these years. Amen.
