CHAPTER 6
WHY WILL GOD HEAL US?

The primary reason God saves, heals, blesses, and answers our prayers is
because of His great love toward us. There is no human love that could ever
love us like God loves us! The Miracle of the Father giving His only
begotten Son to save a lost, condemned world is indescribable and cannot be
repeated!
The Bible states: "For when we were yet without strength, in
due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one
die; yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God
commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us." (Rom. 5: 6-8)
The Word of God says: "The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance". (2 Peter 3:9):
"For
God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not
His Son into the world to condemn the world but the world through Him might be
saved (John 3: 16,17)
God's desire is to bless everyone, but
many stubbornly refuse His grace, thereby nullifying the goodness and love
which He wishes to shower upon them! Hell was not made for
man but was prepared for the devil and his angels (Matt. 25:41). If
man turns a deaf ear to God's warnings and goes unheedingly down the broad
road, he will eventually cut himself off from God's mercy and inherit eternal
damnation!
THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL
LIFE!
The Bible says, "The
wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget
God". (Ps. 9:17). Also, "For the wages of
sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our
Lord". (Rom. 6:23)
The Scripture says, "And from
Jesus Christ, who is the Faithful Witness, and the first begotten of the dead,
and the Prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved
us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood". (Rev. 1:5)
GOD'S GREAT INTERVENTION IN WORLD WAR

There is a militant promise given in the holy Bible to the people of God: "The battle is not yours, but Jehovah's." (2 Chron. 20:15). Much has been written about God's miracle that saved Great Britain in 1945.
Prime Minister Winston Churchill had
written a speech which he planned to deliver to the British people, informing that they had lost the war! Then,
a miracle occurred! From the stories of God's intervention at that time,
I submit only this brief account from a newspaper!
MIRACLE AT DUNKIRK
In 1940 the outlook was the darkest for the British Empire. France had fallen, and the British armed forces were pushed with their backs to the English Channel. Hitler's forces were ready to annihilate nearly 350.000 troops of the Royal Army. King George called for a day of prayer and fasting, May 26, 1940.
Two days later "the miracle
of Dunkirk" happened, as a great calm came over the channel, which
ordinarily is the choppiest 22 miles of water on the seven seas. As a mist
hung low covering the beach, protecting them from view, the Royal armed forces
returned to their home-land on row boats, canoes, and every other coceivable
type of craft.
NINETY GERMAN SUBS SURFACED
There was the time when the allies were
in danger of losing the first World War. The Germans had a mighty submaribe
fleet which threatened to become an invincible force. One day the waters began
to boil and churned violently as a mighty storm broke at sea. So great was the
motion of the water that the submarines were compelled to surface. They did so
only to find themselves surrounded by the Allied Fleet. Ninety-nine were
captured or destroyed and three thousand men were taken captive.
Two hundred and nineteen times the
Bible tells of God's dealings with the storms of the seas! He loved us and shed
His precious blood to wash us from all our vileness and uncleanness!
QUEBEC CITY WOMAN EXPERIENCES GOD’S
GRACE!
In our 1976 Quebec City Crusade, I had the privilege of preaching to a packed house of unsaved people - who had come at the invitation of the ‘Quebec Journel’ - to experience God's miracles. Pastor Marcel Bouchard and his family who were doing missionary work in the province of Quebec arranged a three crusade in that city.
God gave us miracles, among them was a man who had suffered serious back trouble. A stranger approached me and offered us one of his discotheques if I would return at a later date for a three-day crusade. He assured me that he had good connections with the Quebec Journal and a TV Station. If I would supply him with video and magazines of documented miracles from God, he would let the Media know of our Crusade.
The discotheque was packed and a fired - up young preacher brought several hundred hippies. He had acquired 1,000 New Testaments in French, from the Bible Society. During that meeting he distributed them to the large crowd. The altars were filled each evening with souls seeking God!
QUEBEC CITY WOMAN EXPERIENCES GOD’S GRACE!
After the service one night, Marcel Bouchard approached me with a personal request from a sobbing penitent who was desperately asking for God's forgiveness, without breaking through. She was an attractive, well dressed 30 year old, with a beautiful 8 year old daughter.
An hour had elapsed since I closed the altar call and she had been lying on her knees, pleading with God for forgiveness.
Her eyes were red and almost swollen shut because of much hard crying. She said, "O' Man of God, I must ask you a personal question. I saw the write-up on the front cover of the Quebec Journel about your coming to our city. "I'm a Catholic, but I couldn't go to an ordinary priest. I needed a Man of God.” I answered, “What is it you want to know? How can I help you"?
IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR ME?
She stopped me: “There are other things I must confess to you, before you give me your final answer. I know you are a man of God and I need an answer from Him."
"If you feel you must tell me something, please do so now as the hour is late", I answered. "However, I will be glad to stay here at the altar with you until you know God has forgiven you."
“First, I hate my father", she said. "When I was thirteen years of age, he raped me and continued doing so until I was eighteen and was able to run away from home", she blurted. I asked, "Are you able to forgive him? What he did was terribly wrong and unbelieveably evil, but if you want God to forgive you, then you must forgive your father"!
MY HUSBAND IS IN THE PENITENTUARY!
"I think I can forgive him", she announced. "There is one more thing", she continued, "my husband is in jail. He is a murderer, having killed his own brother with a butcher knife, in a drunken brawl. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison. He has been incarcerated for 3 years and has 5 years more to serve." I asked, "Do you love him? Can you wait for him"?
She tried to smile:
"Yes, I love him and I think I can wait for him". I encouraged her to do so! Then she began to cry again.
"There is one more thing I must tell you", she
whispered. "I've had three children; this 8 year old daughter and a little 5
year old boy who is in a home for retarded children and I had another girl, a
baby..."
She could hardly control herself at that point. "I was pregnant when my husband went to prison and gave birth to a little baby girl, but I was so nervous and my little baby cried constantly”, she sobbed.
"One night, something came over me and I couldn't tolerate her constant crying anymore. I must have suffered a nervous breakdown or temporary insanity, because I put my hand over her little mouth and when she stopped crying, I realized she was dead.
"I had killed my little baby. Now, I need to know if God will forgive me! Is there any HOPE for me ? she shreiked.
Cold chills went up and
down my spine. I wanted to shake her and
ask her, 'How could you possibly have done such a wicked, brutal thing to an innocent,
helpless little baby?' I did not know what to answer!
YES! THERE IS HOPE - GOD FORGIVES YOU!
Then, scripture after scripture flooded my soul and I said, "Yes, there is hope for you! Of course, there is hope for you. It was for you Jesus died on Calvary's cross. He took your place and paid your penalty, as your substitute"!
I quoted several scriptures: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:16-17)
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the
Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though
they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isa. 1:18). "He that spared not His
own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely
give us all things?" (Rom.

SHE FELL DOWN, EMBRACING & KISSING MY FEET!
When she heard God's answer, the young lady burst into tears and fell down, embracing and kissing my feet. I lifted her up and she threw her arms around me, wetting my shirt with her tears, as her entire body shook from head to toe.
Her little daughter was “crying her eyes out”, and together with the Bouchards and their children, we stood holding each other as the tears flowed down our faces, and the lady kept shouting, “There’s hope, there’s hope, there’s hope for me! Thank God there is hope for me”!
Finally she stopped shaking, took a deep break and opened her purse.
MAN OF GOD COMES TO QUEBEC CITY!
She said "Preacher, I want you to
see something" and she showed me three bottls, each containing 100
pills. The young lady had gone to the
drug store before coming to the crusade and purchased 300 pills. At the check out counter she noticed my
picture and the words 'MAN OF GOD COMES TO QUEBEC CIYY. WILL HE DO MIRACLES?' on the
front page of the newspaper. She then decided she would not take the pills
until she had seen me!
Here is what she said, "Man of God, you have not only saved my
soul today, but you have saved my life through Jesus Christ. If you would have told me that there was no
hope, I had planned to go home and kill myself. Thank God there is hope for me
and my little daughter still has a mother and my husband still has a wife.”
ALL GLORY TO GOD THE FATHER, SON & HOLY GHOST!
Of Jesus' earthly ministry, the Holy Spirit testified, "How God anointed Jesus of
Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, Who went about doing good, and
healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him".
(Acts
Jesus declared, "The thief (devil) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10:10) I have shared these scriptures to underscore how much Jesus did for us, coming to earth to redeem and make us free from the powers of darkness.
St. John stated, "...For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might
destroy the works of the devil". (1 John 3:8)
THE DEVIL IS THE OPPRESSOR, MURDERER, KILLER & AFFLICTOR, BUT JESUS CHRIST IS THE LIFE GIVER, HEALER AND BLESSER!
Satan had bound the human race with lust, hate, fear, torment, sickness,
disease and death! But the love of God
caused Jesus to leave Heaven's glory and come down to this earth as a man, in
order to become our substitute.
HE SHED HIS PURE, PERFECT AND HOLY BLOOD
TO ATONE FOR OUR SINS AND LIBERATE US FROM ITS PENALTY...WHICH IS DEATH;
PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL!
The Bible says, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
“And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross
"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above ever name, that at the NAME OF JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father". (Phil. 2:5-11)
The life of Jesus shows His great compassion for the sick and suffering: "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people." (Matt. 9:35)
When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them and forgave them, blessed them and healed them! He was moved with compassion then, and He is still "touched by the feeling of our infirmities". (Heb. 4:14-16)
I repeat, the primary reason Jesus Christ healed the sick in Bible days was because of His great love and compassion for the sick and suffering. And that is the primary reason He heals the sick today. He loves and cares for us and is touched with the feeling of our infirmities! AMEN.
